George Strait does it again, taking to Texas A&M’s Kyle Field and breaking the attendance record for largest concert ever held in the U.S.
George Strait is no stranger to setting records. He currently holds the record for largest indoor concert in North America for his 2014 The Cowboy Rides Away Tour performance at the AT&T Stadium, drawing out 104,793 country fans. Ten years later, he did it again. On June 15, 2024, gave the performance of a lifetime at Texas A&M’s Kyle Field for a record-breaking 110,905 attendees, making it the largest single concert in U.S. history.

Strait dazzled the record-breaking crowd with a set consisting of new songs from his upcoming album, Cowboys And Dreamers, as well as some of his biggest hits. He greeted the crowd after kicking things off with his famous cover of Rodney Crowell’s “Stars on the Water” and his 2013 hit “I Got a Car.” Halfway through his set, Strait wowed the crowd with multiple new songs from his upcoming album, expected September 6, including the newly released “MIA Down in MIA.” The King’s full set list as well as the official track list for Cowboys And Dreamers can be found below.
George Strait didn’t take on the crowd alone. He invited up-and-coming country stars Parker McCollum and Catie Offerman to the stage, saying “It’s so good to be here with Catie Offerman and Parker McCollum. Let’s have another big round of applause for those two.” The King also gave a birthday shoutout to McCollum, remarking “What a day, what a place to spend your birthday, right?”
McCollum discovered he would be singing along with The King after a Tweet he posted. “I tweeted, ‘How cool would it be to play a concert in Kyle Field?’ No one’s ever had a concert there,” he said. “A month after that tweet, my manager calls me and says, ‘George [Strait] wants to know if you’ll play Kyle Field with him on June 15.’ I don’t think I’ll ever have a better day in this business.” Given the record-setting nature of the concert, we think he might be right on that one.
Strait plans to continue his legendary tour with stops in Salt Lake City, Detroit, Chicago, and Las Vegas. Tickets to his remaining concerts can be found at georgestrait.com.
